Overview

Bean, Kinney & Korman’s Private Equity team is a leader in representing both portfolio companies of private equity firms and sellers in the lower middle market in the government contractor industry.

In 2020, more than two thirds of all nation-wide private equity acquisitions in the Federal government contractor industry were of target companies based in Virginia and the DC metropolitan region.

Our transactional attorneys have represented portfolio companies, and sellers in buyouts and growth equity transactions sponsored by private equity funds, including those from secondary sales. A longtime advisor to funds, portfolio companies, and other investors, our team recently represented a technology company in the agricultural industry, a portfolio company of two expansion stage investment funds, in a secondary sale.

On the sell side, our attorneys have the capabilities of carefully crafting exit strategies including assisting clients in finding most suitable investors.

Our transactional attorneys work closely with the incumbent management, investors, and banking advisors to manage, negotiate, and execute transactions, and have the requisite experience to lead all aspects of due diligence of transactions and negotiate acquisition agreements.
